Solid Soap Olive

The classic cube-shaped soap from Compagnie de Provence is still made today according to the traditional 18th-century recipe, which involves air-drying in the harsh, dry mistral wind. The soap’s shape is rustic and its appearance varies depending on the drying time. Genuine Marseille soap must contain at least 72% vegetable oils; the soap we sell has a higher percentage than that. Our soap contains just over 85% vegetable oils, of which approximately 60% is olive oil and approximately 25.5% is coconut oil. Thanks to the properties of the oils, this mild soap protects the skin whilst cleansing and has a moisturising and softening effect. The soap is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and dry skin. The olive soap is fragrance-free and contains no preservatives, colourants or perfume. It is not tested on animals, is antiseptic, hypoallergenic and biodegradable.

Cleaning of tempera-painted surfaces
Olive soap/Marseille soap is ideal for gentle cleaning of surfaces painted with egg-oil tempera. Tempera-painted Norrgavel furniture should be wiped down with olive soap/Marseille soap and water as needed. Naturally clean! Read Norrgavel’s care advice here.

Tip – make your own soap spray
Place a few pieces of olive soap or Marseille soap in a bowl and pour hot water over them. Stir until the soap pieces have dissolved. Collect the dissolved soap mixture, dilute with water and pour into a spray bottle. The soap spray can be used for gentle all-purpose cleaning around the home, but also for removing stains from clothes or as a mild detergent for wool and silk.
